DataVeil 4.14 Released

DataVeil version 4.14 has been recently released and is available for download at https://www.dataveil.com/my-downloads/

NEW: Detailed Value Viewer for Data Browser

The Data Browser in the DataVeil GUI has been enhanced with a Value Viewer.

This means that an individual value (and Before vs After masking pair) can be examined in a separate detail view. To use, simply double-click on a value in the Data Browser window, or right-click and choose "View Value...".

This feature is ideal for reviewing longer or more complex string values that may not fit or be meaningfully displayed in the default Data Browser window, such as JSON or XML records. The Value Viewer can also automatically detect and auto-format these values for display to make them more readable, e.g. instead of seeing one very long string containing a JSON record, it can be auto-formatted so that fields are indented and displayed on separate lines.

An example of a the Value Viewer displaying a Before vs After JSON value is shown below:

For further details and detailed examples, please refer to Data Browser - Detailed Value Viewer.

Offline Help

Until now, the integrated Help function of the DataVeil GUI relied on accessing online Help pages at https://www.dataveil.com.

The DataVeil GUI will now, by default, continue to use online Help unless it is unavailable (e.g. no internet) in which case a local offline copy of the Help pages will be loaded.

You can change the Help source setting under Tools->Options, Servers:Help tab as shown below.

Note: The help/ folder in the unzipped DataVeil software folder contains HTML, PDF and CHM copies of the Help.
